Traumatic Brain Injuries
The brain is the most complex part of the human anatomy and is susceptible to injury from a variety of forces or events. A“TBI” can occur from trauma even though the head is not impacted. Inhalation of toxic substances can also injure the brain.
Some of the side effects that someone with a traumatic brain injury could experience include:
- Paralysis
- Motor Skills Impairment
- Amnesia/ Memory impairment
- Difficulty Learning
- Impaired Thinking/ Cognition
- Recurring Headaches, Dizziness or Blurred Vision
- Sleep Disorders
TBI’s can range from mild to severe, although there truly is no such thing as a mild brain injury. TBI’s generally require a great deal of specialized care.
